Project El Taco...1990 BII

Well either way... both bumpers will be getting a reciever, but whether or not the winch is mounted in the front bumper, or on the reciever is still up in the air....

I would vote for bumper mounted if you are going to be doing rocks. In the stuff I do in the rocks you end up being off angle. I would think that the receiver mounted winch would add stress to the frame that you might not want.
The flip side is that you can move the winch front to back

Cool BII, man! What's the gearing in those axles, 3.73?

Thanks for the comments guys...

Axles are 3.73 geared.

I fixed the brakes today, ziptied my lines, hose clamped my springs and pulled out the AAL and put my extended shackles back in. The thing rides a million times better and feels like it flexes out better, does sit about 1/2" to an 1" lower in the back though, I think im going to put a small block in there to even it out a bit better, but it doesnt rub. Im going to take it out to Redneck Station tomorrow and get some more pics. Well see how it does.

Here is some stuff from today.

The rear springs flex out awesome, but I need some jeep springs for the front.

And some Vids:

The last view is an acceleration shot, I eased into it a bit cause I didnt wanna smooke the clutch, LTB's, 3.73's, and the SOHC... the clutch is the weak link. Doesnt do too bad for what it is though...

either i'm doing something wrong or all your vid's send me to the same one..

Also... I dont know why everybody whines about gearing on TRS. With 3.73's and my 34's, low range is plenty low, and I dont have to worry about busting joints and shafts... I think 4.56's would be too low, and id twist more shit off...
Then you haven't been where you really need to crawl with some precision, I've got the same tires with 4.56s and still have to slip the clutch more than I'd like, 3.73s would be hell.

Well its possible, I havent been on the rocks yet, but other than that, I havent had any problems, and I really dont have to slip the clutch much at all, im sure I would have more clutch wear if I was sitting in traffic...

Go with at LEAST 4.56 on this. I've got 4.56's in mine with 35's and while I know you are running a 4.0, the 4.56's are not real great to turn the big meats. Mine are also wider, but still. If you go with 4.10 you'll be kickin' yourself... just my $0.02.

I have 4.88's and I would still like it lower for the rocks. I would not buy 4:10's, you would be under geared.

Well fine guys... youve convinced me... when I re-gear ill go at least for 4.56's...

It just drives so nice at 1800 RPM down the road as it sits...:D

yeah the highway of it is always nice... i know i'm going 4.56 or 4.88 on mine, i just got the 4.10's till i can afford the front axle swap and tires.. 4.88's and 30's would not be desirable! lol

nice rig. i saw u over on pirate in the pics of b2 thread and was wondering what all u had done, and somehow im come across your thread over here. looks like the 4.0 is working out good for u, it sounds mean as hell too. was that the rear tires rubbing i heard in the snow vids? also is that snow on the roof or did u not paint it? what did u use to your rig with? looks kinda satin
