Project 96 Explorer *UPDATED with pics!!!*

Project Explorer has now begun!!! :yahoo:

Its a 96 Explorer 4-door 2wd.

Going with.....
-78 D60 Front (3.54 Gears)
-05(?) E-350 32sp D60 Rear (3.54 gears)
-M5OD
-13-54 Manual shift T-case
-37" Tires (Dunno what brand or anything yet)

Basically Im gonna sit her on 1-tons and swap in a manual trans and T-case. Take off the doors, build a custom front and rear bumper. Thats all the mods planned for now.

Eventually, I'm gonna spool the rear, convert it to 35 spline, and swap in some 5.13's. Prolly detroit the front, and 5.13's there too.

Pics coming later this evening.

Wreching session to be held each weekend till completion!!!

dude, read the rules about posting! no curse words in thread titles!!! anyone who gets to forum page can now see "fat bitch" on the page. Hopefully someone catches this quick and you get a chance to change the title, preferably to something you choose. that aside your build sounds interesting!

yea mine was Potato Tits, even that wasnt aloud only on here

but nice going build though

I edited the title to abide by forum rules.

Ok, I'm :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:
But for the rest of us, tell us how this project got its name...

Well, it came about 2 different ways.

I am working on it alone, which make it a bitch to measure and move heavy things. And since the axles stick out from under the wheel wells about 7 inches on both sides, its gonna be wide/ fat.

"Fat Bitch" #1

And as I sat there trying to think up a name for it, someone called me....and she's a "Fat Bitch"

"Fat Bitch" #2

And I completely changed it. Consider this your warning. If it happens again, you will get a short recess.

i would not use the d60 out back. get a 14 bolt, its a stronger axle and cheaper to lock & gear and go 35spline etc... also going disc brake swap is cheaper.

The video input on the mother board of my PC crapped out on me. :annoyed: Got a graphic card today, install tonight, and *should* have pics up as well.

They are coming guys....

Please be patient!
