Project 4x4 Commuter Mazda

Yep, those should work

No problem.

Got one of the old sway bar perches cut off, ground smooth, and primed. Will get the other one off this week.

Going to order the HD OEM replacement shafts from Jeff's Bronco Boneyard and be done with it....I don't want to have to dismantle 5 explorer axles and waste 5 hrs of my time at the loca u-pull-it

Now just waiting for funds to buy new axle shafts.

But first with father's day coming up, I bought my dad a pitman arm for his Jeep to give him a head start on his progress....and he just dropped off his chevy D44, and it got a Detroit Tru-trac and 4.10's this week. Now he is ahead of me :icon_confused:

Figured while the bumper is off, might as well get rid of the remaining chrome:

Ground down to bare metal, then 2 coats of self etching primer (a must for painting surfaces once covered in chrome):

2 Thin coats of Glossy black Rustoleoum:

It will get another 2 thin coats before all is through and through.

I might borrow bandsaw from work this weekend, cut and weld in gussets to my sliders while they are off. Heck if I can come by the metal, I'll plate the bottoms and paint them suckers up this weekend as well.

looks great, but wouldnt it have made more sense to make it bedlined like the rest of the lower half of your truck?

It would have but, I've seen what bumpers look like painted with Monstaliner and I'm not fond of the way they turn out. Too much bed liner IMHO.
