so i dropped my tank the other week to change my hangers for my leaf spring because i didn't want to have a torch near the tank and re-assembly went smoothly ran the truck everything works fine to my surprise. however when i pump gas now the gas builds up in the feul arm and triggers the gas pump to cut off as if the tank is full but it isn't. i checked the fuel arm to the tank and don't see any kinks to cause a block up haven't noticed any leaks or anything unusual and the truck itself runs normal. Any thoughts?

i think your vent tube is kinked or blocked. if you slightly open your gas cap and vent the tank through there, you can fill your tank without it splashing back out. that should allow you to get gas until you find the reason. i have a 94 that did the same thing

you mean open it where it connects to the actual tank?

I mean slowly turn the actual gas cap. You will hear it venting from the fill hose, as you turn the cap to open it. As soon as you hear the venting fumes, or intake of air, stop turning the cap and let it finish venting. Just a few seconds will be all it needs. Then you can pump at full pressure.
