Alrighty for those of you who know what I was going through with my truck..all that power loss issue and stuff..I fiiinaly got it! I was told by some on this site and by others I know to check my ground wires...well I thought I'd have to go through the whole engine and find every ground there is and check em with a voltmeter. Anyways..my power loss issue kept getting worse and worse and it would idle eraticaly and stall and all kinds of bad stuff. Then my starter sounded like it was going bad for about a week until it just stopped working period. It would just click at the fender mounted solenoid..nothing at the starter. So my dad told me to check my ground by hooking a jumper cable from the chassis to the motor and see if it starts. I tried it and it started right up. I replaced the whole negative battery cable that runs down to the frame and then the block. The thing was soo old and corroded that it barely had any connection. After it was replaced the truck runs awesome. No stalls no loss of power no sputtering, and it idles steady as a rock! I'm soo happy. Lol. After about 115 miles of driving fine...I head out for work and the truck's battery is complely dead! Turns out my alternator is bad. I'm guessing that since everything is grounded now there are smog parts and lights and gizmos all working now and draining the battery. So hopefully the alternator will fix all that. I'll post pics of the truck soon. She's really coming along.
