I have been in a vehicle where the go pedal got stuck on the floor....
It was a 1989 Bronco II Eddie Bauer that had a 2.9 with somewhere around 250k miles on the ticker and a slushbox a4ld trans.... I was going up a long steep grade and had no idea that tired old motor had that much go when the pedal went to the floor an stayed there. I knew there was a big dirt sort of field at the top of the hill so I rode it out till I got there, then I stood on the brake pedal, jumped the curb into the dirt and shut the ignition off. Skidded to a stop in a cloud of dust, brakes smoking and all. Popped the hood, got out, dug my can of spray lube out of my gear in the back, and lubed up the throttle assembly real good. Never had another problem till the floor mat caught the pedal and held it partway down... just had to reach down to fix that problem.
I really don't understand people... if a vehicle starts speeding out of control, turn the key off. For most vehicles that is a quick and reliable problem solver.
