I am getting fed up with all this BS about the prison's being over populated and all. Letting people with minor crimes get a break just so they don't add more people to the prison system. BUT yet we have all these people that where sentenced to death for crimes they committed and they sit in prison for 20-30+ years before anything happens to them if they just started doing it and getting it done and over with that would open up more room in the prisons. Sorry to sound like a *** but why sentence them to death then let them live for 20+years before anything happens to them? We have people sitting in prison for mass murder and all they should just stick a needle in them as soon as the judge rules there quilty

(If this is posted in the wrong section sorry any of the mods feel free to move it and sorry if its posted in the wrong section)

Yeah, it does seem like the prison system needs to be evaluated some...

But what do we know? We're just a bunch of dudes with rbv's

Some people on death row for a long time have been released lately after advances in DNA technology have found them not guilty.

I think it is worth it so the wrong guy doesn't get killed for something he didn't do.

it costs you and I much more to sentence someone to death than it does life in prison.

i am OK with hanging people right after the trial.......
removing hands for theft......
rape, molestation, violent assault, attempted murder all should be executed 7 days after conviction no sentencing hearing needed.....

I should move to the great state of Kalifornia.....
they take me with open hands i am sure.....

what upsets me is that they are about to close down the Terrorist prison in Cuba and then bring them Mofos over here!!!! Now way are maximum security prisons enough to keep these "terrorist" in jail and not out with us!

DONT BRING THEM TO THE STATES!

See with them getting sentenced to death then they sit in prison and have money waisted on feeding them and housing them. I do see where the one guys coming from as now with DNA and all some OLD cases are being relooked and all due to wrongfully acused people but these days as it stands there is a lot less wrongful convictions. The old times should stayed I agree with cutting a thiefs hand off and the whole hanging thing. Its cheaper then leathal injection and you can reuse the rope so yeah. If people can torture and murder someone deserve to die the same death as the person they killed. Or just being hung why be nice and do it by an injection so it doesnt hurt them....

Cutting hands off for theft?

Would that also mean you lose your right foot for speeding?

All kidding aside, interesting subject.

if you dont get into an accident or cause someone else to have one speeding does not have any impact on the lives of others. stealing your car from you on the other hand does....

i'm in favor of death sentence criminals being shot with a big slug out back of the courthouse. i don't think its easy to sentence an innocent person to death these days so why not speed the process up and save some money and give some families some closure. also some kind of painful punishment in prison might be called for.. i know it worked for me when i was a bad little kid and needed a smack. maybe thats too far?

I agree, and believe it or not prisoners get treated better than some people not in jail... My dad works at our county jail, and if an air conditioner goes out, he gets called in the middle of the night to fix it, if it's not fixed, they get a huge fine... I know lots of people that don't even have A/C... I think I remember him saying it costs the county $94 a day for someone to be held in jail... Lots of people in jail WANT to be there... I mean, A/C, hot meals, protection, or none of that living on the street? I think it's ridiculous...

u kill u die simple as that. lol stealing I think the owner of what ever was stolen should be able to beat the shit of them for just being fu&^ing stupid I mean come on...get a life and a job nothing in life is free.

If the person is 100% guilty caught doing it, admitted to it, ext, they should be taken out back and shot or hung to save a buck. especially the suicidal ones that go on killing sprees and what not.

Legalize recreational Marijuana, and end the stupid war on drugs.

and stop demonizing the U.S. public with dumb PSA's against driving drunk. PSA's like "If you drink and drive you get a free ride, to jail." and other "macho" wannabe crap.

I find it funny that they tout this BS as gospel, and then you read in the news about a off duty officer busted with a DUI.

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Stop making everything illegal, that is how you reduce the prison population, and much of the prison population is there because of drug offenses.

...but they are making our license plates. That is another thing, I've noticed far LESS activity in roadside cleanups, the state now "sponsors" a section of roadway to an organization in exchange that the organization will clean that section and the state "advertises" the org on the cleanup sign.

yup, we send stoners to jail who only had personal use marijuana on them. maybe we don't have to decriminalize all drugs, but we shouldn't be locking people up that are non violent drug users either.
Rockefeller law anyone?
Under the Rockefeller drug laws, the penalty for selling two ounces (approximately 56 grams) or more of heroin, morphine, "raw or prepared opium," cocaine, or cannabis, including marijuana (these latter two being included in the statute even though they are not "narcotics" from a chemical standpoint), or possessing four ounces (approximately 113 grams) or more of the same substances, was made the same as that for second-degree murder: a minimum of 15 years to life in prison, and a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

i agree with beanmachine my uncle works at one of the prisons here in Sj and its rediculous on how well the prisoners are treated. They get a free place to live and free food. Its total bs but who are we to say what should happen. I just feel its not right for murders to sit in prison all there life or 20 years waiting to be exicuted.I feel the person who committed the murder should be exicuted the same way they murdered the person.
