Preventing rust... Before it starts

water? you would be the last man i would imagine to post such a wives tale.

it is a water dis-placer.....components of it are heavier...though most is just mineral spirits.

this is why it makes a great prep before some inhibitor for in the doors or what have ya.

Maybe I got my wires crossed from someone saying it is "as good as water for a penetrating oil" years ago.

For that it pretty much sucks because it doesn't stay with you or soak in, it just evaporates to nothingness and you are back where you started working dry. It might work for cruise missiles but I haven't found anything in my world were that is a great thing... rust prevention included.

Playing with 60-70 year old old farm equipment... it might as well be water.

I started spraying mine after seeing a 2000 F-150 that a guy bought new and sprayed it with wd40 every year since new, looked pretty damn good underneath for an ohio truck with 150k on it.

You know, they make this stuff now called Neverwet and I wonder if putting that on your truck would keep it rust free since it repels liquids and such.

The video to that stuff is awesome! and you can get it at Autozone for 22 bucks a can. but it looks to me like it is not a permanent solution, so I wonder how long it would last before needing reapplied.
