Hey guys, I made a fool of myself and first posted this up in "introduce yourself". I've got a very special ranger of mine that I've been forced to leave behind, and I need to be sure it goes to someone who can respect it and get it done right. Here's a link to my ad

In case you were wondering, I used the mustang motor because I got it for free, and knew I'd enjoy the extra challenge. could be the only one of it's kind.

it's nice,but i don't see what's 'one of a kind' about it.looks like a typical 5.0 swap into a 2wd ranger.

most everyone normally opts to swap the motor from an explorer into a 98+ ranger. Mustang engine is quite a bit longer (accessories) and entails some crossmember/motor mount fabrication. Not a big deal, just a pain in the ass.

A lot of 302 motors have been swapped in a Ranger, Bro...no big deal....now if it was Hemi or a 427 Ford side oiler...not that would be rare!!!!!

You outta try stuffing a Crown Vic 302 into a first gen. :icon_thumby:

It is a nice looking swap though, not that common on that new of a truck. It is too bad you didn't get to finish/enjoy it.

Basically every swap is a one off swap, no two are exactly the same. :icon_idea:

Nevermind, minus the whole "rare" part. Never did a whole lot of research on putting a V8 into a ranger. Just decided one day I wanted to do it, and spent my vacation from work, at work, doing it. Unfortunately the money sounds important. As you can see, I don't have a paved driveway or a garage. ha, bodyman without a garage, I get that one quite a bit. Not to mention a hell of a slough of foundation problems. Me and my Fiancee own a newly established distribution company, and I'm half owner/foreman of my shop. I'm too busy to have fun anymore!

All emissions equipment and hoses are intact, and in working order.

:shok:

i will say this. you get two thumbs up and a snap in a circle for the just do it attitude.

and with a just finish it attitude, its worth 2-3 grand.

V8 Rangers are VERY rare to those not directly involved with the car hobby. The only one other than mine I've ever seen locally is in a 4WD and was off road only.

This is a steal for someone!

I have never seen another one besides mine... and mine ain't even running yet so I have yet to see a running V8 Ranger in real life. :icon_thumby:
