Hi everyone I just picked up a 09 ranger FX4. I would like to built it into a mild prerunner/daily driver.
My frist question is...
I would like to install a prerunner bumper how will that affect how the airbags might work, or is there a another prerunner type bumper out there that works with air bags?

They all work with airbags, the front sensors should be located on your radiator core support. There are a few styles though: fully bolt on; welded on fully tubed; welded on tube/boxed horns; etc.

IIRC you might accidentally set off the airbags putting it on.

If you somehow bang the sensor hard enough.

I have put many prerunner bumpers on different kinds of trucks with really no issues. IIRC your sensor is a inertia type meanin you have to hit something hard to cause a switch inside to deploy the bags but its not really dependent on the bumper you run (whether its the inertia type or a different type).
