Premier Paint in Alliance Ohio screwed me

I'm really pissed off.

I went to Premier Paint Technologies in Alliance Ohio (www.premierpaint.com) last week to find out about getting paint for TRS-2. It's 45 minutes from my house (highway), but it's the closest Dupont dealer. I told them everything I would need and wanted to ensure, and specifically asked, if they would have it if I came in. They said they would. I had them print off a list of the stuff so I could just give it to them when I came back to order. I told them I would be back within a week.

Yesterday (19th) I went in and ordered everything. Came back in (2) hours to pick it up. They had everything but the activator (483-15 Ful-Thane). They told me they would have it this morning (20th).

Today I called. Nobody knows anything about it. They don't have it. I called their main store in Eastlake Ohio and the lady says they're ordering it today. She admits that the Alliance store called them yesterday about needing it. I ordered it at noon yesterday. They aren't even going to order it until today, even though I was told I would have it today.

They'll have it Thursday. She asks what shop I work for and apparently I'm just a nobody and don't meen anything because I'm not a commercial account. Atleast that's how I was treated. They won't send it down to me until FRIDAY! My truck is sitting in a building I use with (3) other friends and it has to just sit there in the way until Friday.

I'm really pissed off. Really, really pissed off.

I've always tried to make my Rangers look nice and I've had many strangers come up to me because they recognize it's distinct paint scheme. It gets attention anywhere it goes. I've had it to Wellsville, Attica, Coal Creek TN, Hazard KY, and Harlan KY. I've also had it at Truck Night here.

Now, forgive me, I'm not trying to toot my horn. I know I'm a nobody, but this Ranger (and TRS-1) have been features in Offroad Adventures, seen by millions on the internet, is the icon for the largest and oldest offroad Ranger website, and even Ford recognizes the TRS web presence.

ALL I WANT IS SOME DAMN ACTIVATOR!

I'm trying to go from BASF back to Dupont. I'm ready to take all this crap back and switch to PPG, because I can find it anywhere.

You know, I've never tried to get stuff for my truck for free in exchange for publicity (although I did with TRS-2, but I was approached about it. I didn't ask). I just want to pay for my stuff, make my truck look nice to promote TRS.

Know what TRS-2 looks like now? A very sick and neglected child that needs some food and a new coat.

If there is any Dupont employees here, I'm ready to come dump this stuff in your lap and switch to a product I can actually get!

I hate when companies treat you like you're a nobody because you're not one of their big clients. Just 'some guy' painting a truck in his garage.

If you do decide to scratch dumpont paints, let me know I have an in with PPG (my mom works in automotive refinish marketing!) might be able to get a good hook up at the local shop for ya!

I've always used PPG paint. Always had good luck and good results with it. Seems forgiving for garage painters like myself.

What sucks is the "NO returns on mixed paint" on the invoice, because I really want to take this back.

What's worse, there is a PPG shop (2) blocks from where the Ranger is. I went in there for sandpaper during the prep. Drove 45 minutes further to get screwed. If they would have told me up front, I probably would have just got Imron so I could get it painted. It's going to be 62 today (paint the white), 69 tomarrow (drying time between colors) 64 Thursday (paint the blue), AND 50 ON FRIDAY! I have a wood burner to heat the building, but I can't leave it unattended. The temp wednesday would have been perfect for it to just sit between coats without having to watch a wood burner.

Well, I'm done with this company. This is the 4th paint job I've done (doing) using them. I can be a loyal customer, but I'm not forgiving if I get screwed.

Are you keeping the same paint scheme on TRS-2? Or are going going to try something different?

I have had luck in the past by contacting upper management , maybe that will work here.

i'd call the higher ups, my dad once annoyed the higher ups at best buy for so long he got a signed apology from some important person. once you've made your point, never buy from them again.

That is life, it happens to everyone.

I live a little over an hour from my hometown, my dad owns a shop there and all the car part places will run me thru his acount to get his discount and pay cash... so that is where I get stuff. So order what I need on weekends, pay for it, and tell them to send it up to the shop when they get it when they take stuff up for dad. More than once I have had them order in something, let it sit in the back room for a couple days and then send it back because nobody picked it up.

Dad does a lot of buisiness with all of them and they still can't keep it straight without me calling them the day they get it in and telling them where to take it.

I really want to get rid of this paint. If I use it, I'll be stuck going back to them if I have to fix something later.

I had them mix the new Ford Blue Flame. The white's just a basic white. I'll be using red reflective vinyl this time for the red stripe.

The shithead from the store I actually ordered it from was suppose to call me back today to tell me what was going on. He didn't. If I hadn't called up to their main store to see if they had it, I'd still be left in the dark.

thats sucks! it doesnt matter if u order 1/16 of paint or 16 gallons, they should give better treat to costumers, cus they dont know if later that costumer will come back for a big order.
i had way better treatment when i got 1/16 of white paint for my bumpers for what ive seen lol. the guys at the store explained me all that i had to do to get a perfect paint job, from mixing, temp and sanding!

by the way i know TRS-2, thats one awesome truck!!
but i havent seen TRS-1, anyone has a picture?
