i got the info on my 2000 ranger 2.5l im installing a tach whats a good wire to use or a block on the fuse.

Keyed power: red/yellow at fuse 11 or behind cluster
RPM signal: tan/yellow at PCM or behind cluster
Dash illumination: light blue/red from radio harness or HVAC panel or behind cluster
Ground: chassis ground or black/white behind cluster

RPM connection on a 91?

I also am installing a tach on my 91 and have everything working except the most important one...the RPM. Will the RPM lead be the same Yellow/tan as in the 2000? I have located the CPM and have no idea how to make sure I have the right wire out of that hole mess. :icon_confused:

I found it myself. FYI...The plug its self was Black and Yellow on the inside. The Wires were both red! However, I followed all the wires off of the lower level Distributer. (Why there are two, I don't know.) Anyway, the connector was right above that distributer. Working just fine now. Thanks for everyones help.:yahoo:
