Power panel for rear of bed anyone?

it sounds funny gump....but its horrible....i was embarrassed of the ford at first....the superdoodie had weak ass springs that were easily addressed.....i mean ford should be ashamed of that....but a 1/2 hour fix with some iron.....and yeah....those jerks should put the pro power in the doodies as well like my powerboost truck....but its not a deal breaker....what we are doing here is great....these solutions are well worth the effort....

there aint no fixing this bitch ass ram.....i keep saying dodge at first then stop myself.......because even dodge would never do this to anyone....

I wrote "starter solenoid" as in older Ford vehicles which I know were for large current but intermittent use and fine for running the electric wench in the rear of my '02 Ranger. However, there are similar solenoids on Amazon for continuous use for electric golf carts.

Ford had weak springs so you go to a coil spring Ram? You didn't get stuck with the air suspension did you?

i like air suspension.

but its coil.

terrible compared to the fords and gms to work out of.... especially the cab.

the springs in the 350s and 3500s were ok but i ordered the Godzilla with dual alternator and batteries and a 10500 gvw. the gm was 9600 or 9800 so i was expecting it to be a non issue.

and it sure as fawk was not able to go 10500. but that was easy to fix.

this ram thing ..... meh. one of the other rig managers ripped the seats right out and built a new floor. but he only has one eye and got surgery on the remaining one...then his vision went wonky and ended up turtling that truck. so he cant work until he gets some vision back. i kind of hoped to check it out. he had it powered up similar to how i did the 250.

it sux because the 250 was bought before the merger...now everything is leased and these turds are being given away ... because they are turds. i was supposed to keep the 250 till 250k..... so another year or so. but somewhere a few months back they started liquidating. so well ...

probably wont be long

Trying to figure how I would use this powered "panel" of sorts. Nothing beats a powder coated or stainless steel nema drip proof electrical box, the link I posted for that grey 18" box is a gasketed water tight design, now if I could discover who manufactured it and find a smaller model. Comes with hinges.

I may start thinking about mounting everything on a sub panel, with the controls behind a cover panel. Outlets, switches, indicators, everything closed up when not in use. Also the plastic material, black is best for extended outdoor exposure. It would be great watching the rain sparkle up the lights on the front panel, and to have all "waterproof" rather than "drip proof" would be nice. Allen Bradley makes some real nice front panel stuff. I'll see what I can find this weekend. Thinking some hard anodized black aluminum sheet would be a nice start. Sometimes the scrapyard has stuff too....

Surplus & Rednecks combined is a terrible thing. In Texas, we got a lot of each. It's just when they mix, watch out.

Getting ready to head over to the Belton County Expo center for Friday & Saturday (half day) for the Ham Radio swap meet in the parking lot & inside on Saturday. (Saturday, is a half day). You can find most anything you want electrical for not much $$. Including a 33 foot tall fiberglass whip antenna for yer flat fender jeep. I love antique radio & I operate the old tube stuff as often as I can. Estates, hords, old science experiments, and the folks that own them - I'm warning you.

So, if anyone would like to meet up and want to get to know more about Amateur Radio, electronics in general, and all points between, look me up, I'm taking on all comers. Just zoom in on "the yellow submarine". ~Ha~Ha.~~ 97nine, two19, seventy eight 00. Off Hwy 35 at exit 292 South, The Hwy 121 exit.
