Power Locking Issue (please help!)

I have a 2000 Ranger and I am experiencing a problem with my power locks. On the passenger side I am able to lock both doors, but not unlock any of them, while from the passenger side I am able to lock and unlock both doors. (I'm also experiencing a problem with only my passenger side speaker working, except when I roll the driver side window down then i can get sound out of the driver side, which I've posted about in the speaker section of the forum.) any suggestions on how to remedy this problem could they be related?)

Ok...you've used passenger side twice talking about different sides of the truck here.

Please clarify which side is doing or not doing what.

whoops my bad! It's the driver side that is giving me the problems. (both speaker and power locks) I am able to unlock and lock both doors from the passenger side, but only able to lock the doors from the drivers side (pushing unlock from the drivers side does nothing). meanwhile only the passenger side speaker works unless I roll down the driver side window then that speaker will work is well. I don't know if I just have to clean some contacts or if I have a rats nest of wiring trouble. Sorry for the confusion with the first post

I'd be pulling the door panel to look for the window or regulator rubbing on a wiring harness. It's also pretty common for wires to break inside the rubber flex boot between the door and the body, but it's not usually affected by rolling the window up or down.
