Power door locks dont work

The power door locks on my 89 STX have Never Worked. I've checked the fuses and those are good. What's the most common problem with ranger door locks and where should I start looking. Is it the Actuator in the door. Them parts are Expensive and since it's Electrical I'd hate to buy and try it, find out it's not it and then cant take it back. Any Ideas?

check power to the motor itself first then it might be a bad motor like mine are ebay has new ones for like 20 bucks look for the ones for same year mustangs they are the same as the rangers and bIIs
