Thinking about buying a tool box for the bed, but I want to get a black one. Delta makes a decent box bor 250-300, and I was wondering how much it would cost to get it black powder coated? Anybody know? The ones that come in black are upwards of 500 so I was wondering if this way might be cheaper.
Also, I am looking for black diamond plated bed rail caps, but nobody seems to sell these.

Are you on a budget?
If not buy the black one, but ive never had any experince with powder coating...

Probably cost you $200 or more to get it powder coated professiionally. The polished will need scuffed and pre-treated before coating.

And ive never heard of them diamond plate thingys your talkin about?
Would you possibly be able to make them?
I see the diamond plate sheet everywhere here..

if i was buying a toolbox (already have one and its great) i would check the classifieds and junkyards. you can probably pick a used one up cheap. and tool boxes can take a beating so you wont be able to tell the difference between a new and used one. just my 2c.

im pretty sure DEE ZEE makes a black diamond plate bed rail cap. not sure if its only for fullsize or not...

i say just buy a black diamond plate box and get some of that undercoating stuff. looks similar to powdercoat in my opinion.

Undercoating is not even close in regards to durability as powercoat. It would probably not be a good choice for a toolbox. However, bedliner, like Rhinolining or Line-X is VERY strong and would yield good results.

i got mine for 396 at a local truck shop

its a UWS low profile box in black

Do a web search. I checked DEE ZEE and they show them for Chevy, don't know about Ford. You might call. They have both alum, and black. The black are power coated as I think most will be if offered in colors. They are around a hundred bucks. shady
