Just wanted to make a post about good ranger finds deals.

I remember my first ranger :)
It was a 1990 shortbox standard cab 2.3 5 speed 2wd work truck. I bought it for 80$ with a new timing belt. It needed a clutch and a oil pan gasket. So my dad drove it home and we put a clutch and oil pan gasket on it, cleaned it really good and sold it for 750$

post some of your best finds!

i bought mine about 3-4 years ago BONE stock. 2900.. guy wanted 4500
95 4x4 excab standard 4.0 basic 117k
well my dad sold his b2 an picked up a 93 ranger stx ex cab 4x4 4.0 stick a/c tilt cruse for 500 bucks! throttle body was sticking an hit had less than 100k on it.

we just picked up my buddy a 96 ranger 4x4 auto a/c tilt cruse stx package for 10000 had 77k on it. we put about 500 into it in parts an what not basic tune ups an what not

i bought my splash last summer for 600.
96 splash reg cab stick 2.3 bone stock an looked like a big piece of poo.. ive got about 3k into it now an it looks SOOO different.

Got my 1992 Ranger with 92,000 on it and 215/70/14 for free from my grandaddy it now has 125,000 on 235/75/15 :icon_hornsup:

Lets start with my First Ranger.

My '95 Taurus just smoked its second trans so I bought a '94 Cutlass off some old lady for $300, at the same time at a used car lot I found a '91 Ranger with a 3.0 that was recently repainted and looked pretty clean, turns out it had a real hard time starting, and ran like shit. They couldn't get it right so they traded me straight up for the Cutlass. I had a good parts car with a 3.0 so I figured I could fix it for pretty cheap. Eneded up Just running a few tanks of gas thro it and a few cans of sea foam, Ran fine for me for 7 months till I sold her for $2500, i did end up having the trans rebuild, that cost me $1200.

The Then the reason i sold the '91 was so I could buy an '02 Edge 3.0 2wd with 112,000Mi on it off one of the guys that worked for my Dad for $3500, That was a Nice truck, real clean and nothing wrong with it. I ened up wrecking it , Ins. valued the truck at $6200 then after my $1000 deductible I got a $5200 check for it. I still wish I had the truck tho. Some day I'll get another one....

got my first ranger, 2000 2wd ext cab 5spd, for 4500, dealer was asking 8500, at the time it bluebooked for 8200. in 2.5 years put an alternator, bedliner, sub and amp and 4 tires on it. then an idoit pulled out in front of me on 4/1/08 and totalled it. but it totalled his $20,000 mitsubishi too, ha ha ha! AAA paid me 6000 for it, bought it back for 900, and fixed the hood, right fender, right headlight, bumper, core support, grill, and fender apron for 900 and 9 hours of body work at my friends shop. Still runs like a champ, just have one black fender.

second ranger, got it about 5 months ago for FREE!!!! 84000 thousand original miles, 4x4, l/s, 4.10's!!! a4ld tranny only went in reverse. cost me $49 to tow it home with my buddies f250. took out tranny and rebuilt it in my garage for $194, slammed in a new radiator for $120, new oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, battery and cables, belts, hoses. just finished my four inch lift yesterday only cost me $650. ive got $1250 into this awesome little truck. the only things left are to get my 31x10.50 bfg muds, new muffler and install my 6" kc daylighters..... and possibly spray the whole truck in bedliner

and i wouldnt get rid of either of them ever!!!

i got my 85, 4x4, 2.8, 4 inch lifted ranger
with 1083xx? miles on it
AND a 76 IH cub cadet tractor 44 inch? deck(its big)
for $200

but getting em home only cost.... umm

gee

about $4000 before taxes
my dad aparently didnt grasp the consept of turning overdrive off when youre towing a 30ft car trailer(all we could get)

hes an idiot, but it was funny, especally the ride home with my smartass aunt and uncle
LOL

A friend and I found a bronco II for $225. Picked it up for $200, pull started it, drove it to a wrecking yard where we picked up a starter relay for $5 and drove it home. It had issues with the blinkers/taillights and the clutch was slipping but we drove it for a while.

Then we pulled the body off and put a '73 VW body on the frame. Too bad he never wants to finish the project:buttkick:

Best deal would have to be the 83 reg cab longbed, 2wd. It had a 2.3 with a recent rebuild, and I picked it up for $200. Could have drove it around, but I threw the motor and trans in the zook, and my dad needed the grill and back window. It sits in the back yard now on blocks, just need to pull the windshield and fuel tank, and it's off to the crusher. :D

well i got a '91 4 door automatic 4x4 explorer with 55,000 original miles for 100 bucks

and last wednesday i got a '92 ex cab ranger 4x4 with a 2.9 and a fm146, 3 in body lift, and 2 in suspension lift, with brand new 31's and aftermarket wheels, and a roll bar with 2 kc daylighters, ALL FOR THE LOW, LOW PRICE OF...............FREE!!!!

I picked up my 04 b2300 (base model) with 27k for 8995. Original sticker price was 11995, it was internet special for 9995. I used my old rx7 for tade in. Sight unseen they gave me 1500 for it, I kept refusing all offers for the payments and intrest rates. 1000 went to the downpayment on the truck, I put 0 down. The other 500 went to pay off the loan I used to buy the rx7.

I'm currently looking for another ranger (preferably 4wd 5spd v6) when I pay off my credit cards.

I got my current broncoII not running blow engine (which i actually had a extra one from previous ranger that rolled) got the broncoII for swapping out a distributor on a 89 blazer
body was perfect except for faded paint got it running and discovered it had a rebuilt trans with less than 1000 miles on it, paid nothing out of my pocket on the deal

i paid $1,000 for the ranger i have now, it was woman owned since new in 1988, she lifted 6'' and it never seen dirt untill i got it, it had a bad freez plug no biggie. i have redone the lift and every thing so its not a pavement pounder, but its the nicest ranger i have had. and i have had alot of them.
