Post your Anniversary Trail Ride photos and videos here

Next time come whether you have a truck to drive or not. It's a great time, and you'll almost certainly be able to ride shotgun in a truck like my son and I did.

I actually considered just flying there and renting an 4x4 f150 or something. :icon_rofl:

About ten years ago, Patrick Campbell (Sparkz) rented a Ranger and wheeled it at a gathering. I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure he got insurance on it and did some damage to it. Jim or whoever else was there could explain more. Something about ripping off one fog light on the trail, then pulling the second on the way back to the rental agency so it wasn't obvious he'd damaged it?

I looked around online to try to find a 2019 Ranger for this event but couldn't quickly find one, so my son and I just rolled up there in a Subaru Forrester, then hopped in with 97RangerXLT.

truck is all ranger except the less rangery parts. :thefinger:
That diesel is kind of perfect for that climb. Doesn't need doublers or anything. Doesn't need a turbo, barely needs a go pedal. It just burbles up the rock pile with a little drool coming out the corner of its mouth.

I'm chopping my B2 frame out of the weeds this week.

There's nothing like a good trail ride to build motivation for fixing, modifying and building.

Looks like there might be a fiberglass fender for me in the local junk yard. I'll have to go in person to see if it's still there. $50 and it's already black. Not sure if I'll buy the door or not. Glad I won a RockAuto gift coupon in the raffle. That will go towards a clutch.

Looks like you guys had alot of fun. Makes me want to get a new 4x4. My truck wouldn't have made It 5 feet down any of those trails...
Hua. And mine only had issues in a sand pit because of my tires... ?

Registration when we first got there:

Hey, I know that rig!

Campground shenanigans

And I know that rig too!

Off to the Happy Moose.

The oldest and newest truck as far as I know that showed up.

Some interesting Jeeps there

Our campsite:

Even a Landcruiser out there, I don't think I had ever seen one in the wild before.

I was a pilgrem in an unholy land... just me fastpckr and my inlaws in a sea of Heeps.

Ryan's rig was a beast. I saw him go up the side of a mountain and almost roll it, never had a chance to talk to him though. There was a lot of that, "I will catch them later" but later never happened.

And TRS2, after reading about this thing for 15 years it was cool to see it in real life.

And this beauty rolled in:

The Loan Ranger doing Loan Ranger things:

And day 2, prepping for the Chinese Raffle. These are our goody bags.

The Hi-Lift table, had a really nice gift card too.

Ford Swag table. I wanted one of those door hangers ever since Jim's California trip and was very glad to win one with a mug and a cool Ford Ranger t-shirt (you never see Ranger t-shirts)

Ruffstuff and Warn table. Ruffstuff had a 8.8 swap kit (already have a Ruffstuff kit minus the u-bolts on my truck) and a friggin massive 8.8 diff cover. Warn donated a really nice recovery kit.

A nice first aid kit:

A nice lightbar with brackets to mount on a newer (than mine) Ranger:

Rockauto donated four $25 gift cards... everybody could use those:

@Mightyfordranger donated a really nice bumper for a second gen:

Our fearless leader handing stuff out:

This is a new one, usually I can't even get close to these things:

It actually made it!

A finished version of the bumper mighty gave away that was on his BII.

The only pic I got of Plumcrazy's truck. Hoped to run into him later but he had to take off.

Plumcrazy doing Plumcrazy things.

After going thru several swamps, I think a river and a Jungle (maybe slightly exagerating but not by much) we are on top of a big hill.

I took the pic of Plumcrazy from down there, he was parked on a pile of rocks off to the left of the pic down below us.

After that Mrs 85_Ranger4x4 had enough of the bouncing. The dr said not to do amusement rides and she felt we were about there so we went back to camp to settle down.

The water was about that deep:

Almost up to the bumper;

Then after awhile we go back out and run into the rest of our group at kind of a picnic area and decide to go to the office and see if they actually have trails for stock trucks.

They had maps on the wall so I took a pic for future reference if needed.

Loons out on the lake:

First time driving in sand, it hit it in 2wd 2nd low and promptly dug two holes. Popped it in 4wd and it went fine, it felt weird though I could tell it took more power.

Others tried:

That is the only thing he got stopped on though, stock size tires. Bald street tires, can't make much fun of it at all.

Neat to see the pretty truck trying stuff:

Ugh

I found some deeper water/ mud. You should have told me you wanted some. It was back at the end of the road to the lake, back in the trees. Some guys had a full-size truck stuck back there at the end of the day just before we went back to the camping are for the night.

I wasn't really wanting any, the only vent I don't have extended is the front diff which has brand new 80/90 in it, I need to check that. I intended to but in the rush to get it together I didn't get it done, I did have the stock curly cue thing on it for what that is worth.

Some campground pics:

All packed up

Bobby's coffeemaker:

My wife thought we should do a lineup pic, should have done one the day before too but nobody thought of it then.

Bobby being the responsible one and keeping everybody in line (@lil_Blue_Ford was still asleep when this started)

My brother in law took this one:

I wish we would have done a group photo on Saturday. I'm estimating at least 24 participants plus their guests. That's not bad for a trail ride.
