I poop in the furnace.
I'm sick of looking for non trashed explorer seats in the junkyard. Been searching for almost 2 years now. I've made a command decision! Taking the sawzall to my stock drivers seat tomorrow and doing the ole chop and tuck conversion.

Here's the question. My seats still need covers. (Vinyl cracked on the drivers side) I just want semi fitted slip on seat covers that don't look like crap. Anyone got any good ideas on half decent covers that will fit the seats after they are converted from 60/40 to 40/40 without going to an upholstery shop or paying a fortune? It's a truck, I just want it to look decent and not like a hobo covered the seats in dirty beach towels.

Facebook frightens and confuses me. Also I'm very confused by what seats work with the OCS and SRS sensors my current seats have. I know alot of seats will physically bolt right in, but no clue what will plug right in to the electronics. I've also found that I can't use high back seats because my truck is a regular cab, the high back seats will hit the rear window, so more confusion. This is what led me to give up the search and get the saw out...

I also found you a center console to go with it.

Does $30 for a set of Ranger bucket seats that look like they're in very nice shape frighten and confuse you too? You don't even have to unbolt them from the truck... some else did all the work.

But what about the sensors and the seat height issue?

You're pretty much stuck with cutting your seat or finding similar year buckets.

Buy these and use the factory seat cover on your seats.

I just looked for those two buckets and console, they must have sold, I'd jump on-em in a heartbeat

Yeah... there gone. If not they’d be in my truck.

@Dirtman If your still in GA and want the Explorer seats that I have sitting around, let me know FREE for you

I'm flying home in a couple hours. I hit up the junkyards down here but aparently where I deal with snow/salt rot in NJ you folks in Georgia deal with sun damage. All the interiors I looked over for consoles and seats were absolutely full of cracks and sun faded. The plan was to buy a bunch of crap down here and have my brother in law drive it up to me when they came to visit for christmas but I found zilch as far as stuff for my ranger.

Found tons of goodies for my mustang though.

This is the first time I’ve seen one of these consoles complete and unbroken. That’s what was supposed to be in my truck when I bought it. Instead, armrest was missing and lid broken.
