Hello everyone This is my first post on TRS but I read posts hear regularly.

So here's my issue, I recently bought a 2003 Ranger Edge 3.0l 2wd, great little truck. So far i have personally performed an oil change (Mobil one full synthetic), changed IAC vavle to clean a rough idle, Swapped an ignition switch, new plugs and wires (motocraft not bosch), and changed the speed sensor on top of the differential. The truck runs great except for one slight problem the truck accelerates fine up until 45 which is the speed limit throughout most of my driving so i let of the throttle and the truck raises gear and rpms fall below 2k when i gewt back on the throttle the truck has litterally no power and it takes alot of throttle and quite awhile to drop gear. Since i know this truck has no Kickdown cable and I have already changed my ABS speed sensor which I have read can cause shifting issues, amicorrect to assume the problem is related to the TPS? or is there something else im missing here? I have thought about the idea that the issue was the overdrive not disengaging correctly but i would assume its not since i can turn it on and off and it works flawless.

I have also noticed that my gas pedal feels tighter after its warmed up than when i first start the truck and its cold Im not sure if this is a related issue or not.

and finally NO LIGHTS!!!

Thank you, all help is appreciated.

TPS is easy to test, all you need is a multimeter. Should be just under a volt closed and mid 4's fully opened.

ok I can run the the test just a quick question, does the engine need to be running or will the key in the on position suffice?

Key on.

Quite frankly, I think your driving habits have become the default memory for the adaptive learning of transmission shift points.

Try resetting your PCM by disconnecting the battery and turning on/off the headlamps.
Then let it idle 4 minutes in each of these conditions,
Parking brake set:
Park
Park with AC on
Drive
Drive with AC on.

Then drive it like you stole it for a couple days.

Ok ill run the TPS test if it comes back clean ill follow your advice and reset the PCM thanks for the help

Alright, so i was able to run the TPS test tonight the sensor delivered mid 4's at WOT just as expected but at closed it delivered readings just over a volt-1.3. I'm not sure if this means its bad? going bad? Will changing it cause a noticeable cure?

Either way ill reset the PCM tomorrow after work and see if that helps

Thanks for all the help.
