Possible Swap

I have an 88 Ranger. And want to go turbo. I did some research and i figure itll just be easier to swap an entire motor and all. I found a 87 Turbo Couple for cheap that runs and wanted to know what special stuff needed to be done for me to swap it all over.

You found the perfect donor. Swap in the engine, wiring harness, computer and fuel pump and you're off and running.

don't bother with the fuel pump, htey are the same. if you are going to go to the trouble of pulling the pump, put in a hi volume pump. i've been using a TRE 255lph pump for 2 years now, trouble free.

The TRE pumps are great. I'm running a 190lph pump from them. My stock pump was only 60 lph and I didn't think that would be enough.

I just did a swap like you wanna do in my 87...... I feel it was much easier to use the Ranger harness and just add the pins for the VAM, o2 sensor ground and a few others.... bought the car for $675 and drove it home!!!! Is the coupe you're looking at a 5 speed or automatic? The 5 speeds are 190 hp vs. the auto which are 150 hp......
