On a 4.0 SOHC the engine has to come out to change the head gaskets and at that point you might as well change the timing chains as well. Just to ballpark it, a reman 4.0 from Jasper is $3800. So the value of said truck is basically scrap value.
That's one reason why I traded in my Sport Trac last week, after 212,000 miles it was showing signs of a bad head gasket.
