Good evening guys...

Ive searched, but can seem to find anything on this. Have a "knock" that sounds exactly like this video, but I havent been able to get ahold of this guy.

I took the belt off and def isnt an accessory, but I have no codes thrown. Happens between idle and 2k, but cant tell if it does it higher due to engine noise.

Misfire? It does increase in velocity as I step on the gas, and my gas mileage has gone down 4mpg in the last few weeks. Plugs and wires were changed less than 6k ago.

Any ideas?

You did not mention that your gauge shows no oil pressure. That's big!! To me, the knock sounds deep in your engine. Have you been loosing coolant? Perhaps coolant has gotten into your crankcase. That would wreck crank bearings. Let's hope for something better.

Luckily, that is not mine. Ha, guess I should have clarified, mine is just making the same low knock.

Took it to a shop today, he feels as if it is just my cat hitting the crossmemeber. I have cut the exhaust off after the cat. I knew the cat was hitting the crossmember so I figured I'd replace the trans mount (it was on its way out) bc I planned to tighten the bolt anyway. Guess I didnt tighten it enough but I was afraid of stripping the mount screw into the trans. I'm going to tap the whole out to clean up the threads.

I also have a broken exhaust manifold stud. Of course its the PITA rear passenger side one. Wohoo me. I guess I'll replace the whole exhaust and "upgrade" to an 04+ exhaust since it has one less "cat" and it wont hit the cross member. And since I have to take the manifold off anyway, may as well upgrade the headers as well. Then onto a composite intake manifold swap. And oh yea, the timing cover gasket and oil pan gasket.

Why not just put a 302 in? Oh yea. Cause I'm 2wd and 5spd. But it does get me thinking...

Go find your old oil filter and cut it open. Look for metal.

That noise is what I like to call "bad".
