Possible engine swap

thinking about swapping in a 302 with a manual transmission into my ranger. I am looking for a engine and transmission combination that would be the easiest to swap.

depends on what you want. 96+ explorer V8 with an M5odR2 would be the easiest. I personally would go with a 347 or a 351 and an NV4500 but that takes bucks.

Lot's of questions need to be asked and there are quite a few posts covering different combos.

Many V8 Members just used what was available to them. Others, like myself, planned on all new parts. Either way you go a decent amount of time spent reading various build threads will answer many of your questions.

First thing to do is settle on a budget and realize that you will not be able to drive the Ranger for about a month. Getting all the minor bugs out of the conversion is harder than the swap itself.

So they made a v-8 explorer with a manual? If so that sounds like the easiest swap. I am on a tight budget and might not be doing this swap for a while just depends on how long the 3.0 holds up. Just looking for input on the easiest and best way of doing the swap.

No Explorer V-8 came with a manual but easy to use one from a F-150 or a T-5 from Mustang. Explorer would sure be the easiest with very little wiring required with your year.

would the explorer wiring work with a manual transmission. I know on my truck there are electrical connections going to the transmission. I didnt know how the computer from an explorer would work since it is made for an automatic
