well I replace my stock 4.0L engine in my truck with a 4.0L engine from a 1995 ford explorer.

Has anyone ever done this?

I am worried that the computer will think it has the old motor in it without the fast burn chambers in the heads, and that it will burn the motor out.

Should I get ahold of a 95 ranger PCM and put it into my truck?

You should be ok. Worst case scenario buy a 180* t-stat instead of the 195* when you are getting the new engine ready.

The bigger problem comes from putting the newer heads on an older engine. The change in compression causes the engine to run hot and crack the heads.
