Positive Rep vs Negative Rep

Well, I will start out by saying thank you to those who gave me rep over the years and to those who tried to give me rep but ended up soiling my good reputation...

I think instead of bawling over this I will create a Tech Article with all the bells and whistles that shows how to do this right. It really isn't that complicated, but I know for a fact that I have given negative rep to a few members by mistake...it's easy to do if you are not paying attention...that little selector button between "I approve" and "F*** YOU" is only a tongue slip away...

When giving rep...you should always leave a comment...even if it is one word...like LOVEYOUSOMUCHMYTUMMYHURTS...but let's not get too mushy...and then MAKE SURE the dot is still on "I approve" before clicking the little button at the bottom...

It's really that simple...so how can three people in the last two months have screwed this up so badly that I can't even get a Wal-Mart gift card with my Rep points????

I know this could also be a conspiracy by one or even a few members that I will not mention by name (BlackBII is not one of them) who have set out with a personal vendetta to try to keep me from reaching too high in the Rep points...but that would just be my conspiracy theorist fears getting the best of me...and I won't allow that to happen with the right medications...

So...give rep freely...but correctly...and the world will be a better place!

LOL, yes, that's how I usually treat it...but I check it more often than I should...like twice a day so I should cut down to twice a night...

Yeah, the rep tool on this forum gets under used IMO.

I used to use it a lot, but the more you use it the more points you dole out, and since I can shoot a new member with 0 points up to two or three pips in one shot I tend to be pretty judicious with repping people these days.

So many people don't use it...and when some new guys use it they mess it up...but, like I said, it's easy to mess up...that button just seems to flip around on it's own sometimes...wait...what was that I just described!

I didn't realize that the more rep you had the more you can give...hmmmm...maybe that's why some people I gave rep to showed up as increased right away...

I think we should all get together and rep Jim..last time I looked he only had like 10 rep points and I thought that was pretty strange for someone who has done as much as he has...

Good to know....but the rep race would be more fun if every person was in it..
