i have a toshiba satellite thats not letting me listen to anything online except on itunes, instead it does this high pitched squeek thing. also when i try to watch any videos online for every 1 second of video it takes 5 seconds for to go by. can anyone help me with this problem? its killing me

itunes and/or quicktime have taken over??
try updating media player, sound drivers, or resetting media types to default

i got the same computer and i HATE IT. it freezed when i post sometimes and it frezzezs up when i chat or send messages anywhere. only good thing about it is that it is like indestructible. ive dropped it open and closed banged on it when it pisses me off. i even through it. still works great except for the freezing on occasion.

so for your question go to your control pannell and set all to defalts. (thats the easy way but it might not fix it). i have a different computer but this pos has all my programs on it. photoshop, gimp, all my pics, it has as mutch memory as the shop could put in

Hello

I have no problems at all with my Toshiba. The only thing I don't like about it that the speakers are like a mouse. You could have corrupt drivers and you might have to reinstall them. Thats what happen to my old pc. Every driver you need for that is on Toshiba web site.

I don't know anything about iTunes, or how it streams audio online; but it could be an audio codec issue. Do audio files on your local hard drive play fine?

The video latency could be anything from your internet connection to something eating a bunch of resources causing a bottle neck. It's one of the those things I would have to see how the machine is behaving to get a general idea of where the problem is. Same as above, you will like have to have a friend take a look that knows a bit more about PCs, and buy them a case of beer for their time.
