ok my 95 gmc sierra c1500 305 4l60e just got a new used but good 4l60e tranny. for som odd reason it is in limp mode and i need this truck on the road asap or the banner will never reach its goal!!! any suggestions on what is causing it to stay in limp mode???

thanks in advance

Pull the codes. The only way to get it out of limp mode is to ID the sensor or servo that is buggered and fixing it. Then you can erase the codes for normal operation. Can't remember the cut off date for OBD I or OBD II. But GM had one of the better OBD I systems for helping ID problems (unless you had a chevette...then you're screwed LOL)

You'll want to count the flashes of the CEL. For example, one blink, a pause, then two blinks is the code "12". This is the "System Normal" Code.

Here's a link to a site with a reference of OBD1 Codes.
