Got a couple questions about installing pop outs in my 96 Ranger. I already have everything from the donor. What is the best way to cut the triangle holes into the plastic? Seems kind of brittle and I don't want to crack it. What size rivets are used for the clips?

I cant be much help on this other than saying be very careful. Ive seen lots of guys bust windows trying to drill or cut into them. may be worth having one or two spares.

He's talking about the triangle molded into the plastic trim to allow the window brackets to bolt straight to the steel.

I swapped the windows into my truck this past summer. I traced the triangle from the donor truck onto a piece of cardboard. Cut the trace out of the main piece take the main piece to position and trace onto your trim piece.

Then take a drill and dremel tool to it.

The interior panels in a supercab are anything but "Brittle"

Frankly I suspect you'll be disappointed with the effect of the pop-out
quarter windows, I know I was...

They never did seem to do much for ventilation.
(The Popup sunroof from an Eddie Bauer Bronco2 had FAR more effect)
and it was great if you want to hear every bit of road noise, tire hiss
and each piece of gravel stuck in the treads of your tires, but....

Since Installing mine back about ten years ago I don't think I've actually
opened them more than a dozen times, not nearly as often as I open my
sunroof, and I can't even recall opening them once while driving since I
reinstalled the A/C in my truck.
