So I just grabbed a new issue of Off-Road and saw an article about polyurethane fenders. Have any of you guys used them? Are they worth it? And how do you guys think they will hold up in cold weather? Here where i live in alaska it can get as cold as -20.

And do they make, or can you take the those HID headlight kits and put them in for high beams? I talked to the law in town and they would prefer that i didnt have those for my regular headlights.

the HID kits are specific to a certain bulb. so if a vehicle as two different bulbs for their low and high beams, then yes, HID's will work for just the highs. but if its a dual fillament bulb, then no.

The fenders should hold up just as well as any of the snow mobile or Atv fenders that are runnin around up there. And I dont understand how the "law" would have much to say about putting HID lights in your truck. Many new vehicles come with HID lights from the factory. Of course the factory HIDs arent the rediculously bright purple tint but theyre still helle freakin bright.

You live in AK too? What area?

I bet the poly fenders will hold up pretty well in the cold. As for HID's don't do it, there are plenty of them in chevy's and I hate them, I gotta blind them all the time in the winter because they were too dumb to get proper housings. Just pick up some KC's or something, thats what I have.

Well, the fenders should hold up pretty well, seeing as most of the cars on the road have poly bumpers....

Cars with factory HIDs have headlight housings designed to work with them. Simply throwing an HID bulb in a reflector housing designed for a halogen bulb will scatter the light, blind oncoming drivers and is NOT LEGAL. Get real projector housings if you want HIDs.

I have a set of hid's in my b2 and it's a low/high beam setup and I know they sell the fog light kits too. I have a set of 10k in mine in the factory headlights and I don't get flash pulled over or anything but they are great and light up everything cause we usually do the majority of oit wheeling at about 2am no idiots on the trails that way and have no problem seeing anywhere

Sweet thanx guys. I live in Haines. And I talked to the state trooper and the chief of police and thats what they said. But from what exbass94 is saying whether they would scatter in the factory housing or not i could get a set of projector housing and go ahead and avoid a ticket. So should i do that or pick up a set KC's? If i pick up a set of KC's where you recomend mouting them or putting a light bar? And do you guys recomend any playve to buythe polyurethane fenders/body panels?

Well depending on the Lights you get there are different places you should mount them. For example, if you get regular driving beams then they can go either on the top or up front, if you get long range beams I definately recommend putting them up top, and if you get fog lights then put them up front. I currently have both my long range and flood beams up front and they did a heck of alot better up top.

Well nobody really makes bars for rangers anymore, especially if you have a stepside bed. I think Grizzly racks made bars for rangers but they went out of buisness. I'm currently just making my own. Its kind of a headache rack/bed bar combo.

Or you can go with one of the CARR light bars but that requires drilling into your door frame a bit and I didn't like the sound of that.
