Polar Plunge in Seward, Ak!

So, Although I didn't get to drive my ranger down to Seward because it's a company trip I thought I would post pictures of the Polar Plunge!

The Polar Plunge is a once a year thing that goes on during January, in the Harbor of Seward, Alaska. The ocean water here today was 37-39.5 degrees F. which was warmer than the normal temp above the water which was about (-5 to 16 degrees F today, with some serious wind chill.)
People dress up in costumes and all sorts of crazy stuff (inlcuding two girls who dressed up as a pair of BOOBS! to support breast cancer.)

I went to college pretty close to Seward

It was about a 15 mile run to Seward Nebraska from where I went to school, I always thought the sign was kind of funny.

Hahaha, that's hilarious. It's always weird to me how there's more than one of almost every town. Like Fairbanks. There's lots of those. haha That's an awesome sign though!
