Total wild @$$ guess. Your replacement starters have the wrong drive gear. and are jamming with the ring gear. Or a shim?

another wild @$$ guess: what about the starter solenoid?

Brand new or rebuilt starter? Dont necessarily mean it is good. Try pulling the starter and on the I ground put your foot on it and use jumper cables on the starter I doubt it is a wire size issue.

Brand new and I already bench tested it its a duralast from autozone I had them test it before buying it and tested it when i got home

Seems fine my buddy took off his from an old f150 and tried it and still the samething came off a truck the doesnt run but cranks over no fuel pressure

So then if the engine won't crank by hand with the starter installed the starter is too close and needs to be shimmed. You didn't happen to forget the spacer plate between engine and trans?

I agree with Andy D, could the parts store have given you a starter for an auto? It has taken me a few times getting the atarter lines up right. Also the aluminum block plate is important. It lines the starter up and shims it to the right depth.

there was no spacer plate..... the starter was just bolted to the bellhousing

i tried to put washers in to space it a bit still just clicks once.......
we already bench tested a couple of times it throws out and spins but when we put it back on still just clicks again

Can you turn the engine by hand?

We jacked up the rear put it in first and turned the rear wheels. We just noticed AutoZone gave us the starter for an automatic. Gonna return it and get the manual one:annoyed:

OK ladies and gentlemen we finally got it running:icon_thumby:
got the right starter found out that the starter has to be grounded the frame of the starter for it to start....:icon_confused:....not to the the top post next to the pos. post
but shes running just got to shim the starter a lil bit and bleed the clutch!!!!
