No. I just like to get my ideas a little further along before I spill the beans...lol. I have a primary group that has to put up with my random rambling about silly ideas that never materialize....once they become random ideas with a little bit of merit...then the idea is shared so everyone can watch as I slowly abandon the project and push it into the corner..

Random?? I would say the rambling ideas are pretty consistent.

Still no Ranger progress...but...there has been BII Truggy progress

Twisted, bent, rotted, trashed, B2 body is off. Frame is solid except where the rear shock mounts trapped crap. So that got plated up.

Plan is to flip the rear springs to stretch it 6"...then some sort of doved flatty/tube bed and a doved front. Not sure if it will even get any more Ranger body besides the cab and doors.

I still plan to build and wheel the Ranger for years to come.....but.....I really have my heart set on getting something different in the future. I would love to rock an older 406/416 Doka mog...but the price is a bit out of my league for a wheeler. The 60's and 70's models still bring 10-20K easy.

The cheaper solution to get my "different" would be a Jeep...a 4 door Jeep FC (M677). If I went this route...it would be a custom frame...my current drivetrain/power plant, but a bad ass cab over with a mild exo to preserve the cab. I have seen a few basket case FCs go for $500-$1000. Does it make sense for a wheeler?....no, but does anything I do make sense?....no.

Don't worry...Ill still keep the build here on TRS....(I doubt it will ever happen, but hey, one can dream)

A unimog would be awesome! Body damage would be inconvenient thought. Not as many parts lying around. However, yu could justify it because mogs have many agricultural uses! It could double as a "work" vehicle lol. You may have to grow a tiny little mustache to drive it though...

I used to wheel with a guy in a mog. Kinda sucked... so so heavy just not the best in my terrain. Muddy then rocks mixed in. At least his being a diesel never got the wheel spin needed. Plus heavy so when jt got stuck leave it there lol

I have been looking at the specs...the older 4 cyl 404s are no heavier than my Ranger really. They are 6-7000lbs. I honestly have a better chance scoring a total basket case and use it as a body donor than I do saving pennies for a complete Mog. I really don't mind keeping my drivetrain and just building a chassis and putting some sort of odd stubby nose/cab over body on it. I just want something different looking.

Sooo I found some FCs locally...they are a package deal. Rusty..but maybe super cheap.

Lol. You have me looking into mog axles now for when i blow the samurai apart.. and give up on yotas.

Going to a tmr trail series tube chassis 22re on propane turbo'd and 42s over the next year or two gonna build my ranger to wheel first. Im assuming even my 9.5" diffs wont last long .. mogs would be sweet in that

Sounds legit.lol. I want build new chassis and start over.... But keep my axles, cases, motor etc. I like the wheelbase, but want better approach/departure angles.

Thats kinda where i got to... except rust sped my plan up lol. Thats why i started looking into building a chassis. Got sholling by the time i bought a bender dies notcher and tube im pretty much at the priece of a diy buggy chassis from tmr...

I want an FC....bad.lol. I'd miss the luxurious Ranger... But an FC would turn heads.lol. not sure on what to do for a bed. Flatty? Service? Toob? Who knows. Lol
