Thanks.

BTW I may steal your light bar idea... I think I even have an 8" linear actuator some where.

Been a while since I updated this.
Hydro assist is still under construction.

Some cardboard fab...

Then cut out of 1/4". Plan is to tack them on, the pull the cover, full bead them, add a 2" wide strip to protect ring gear, then box in the tabs over that.

I also finally got around to wiring up my 03 tails correctly.(after 2 years). Since my truck originally had a 2 bulb setup (separate turn signal) and I swapped to a one bulb setup where the brake and turn share a filament I had to do some rewiring. I was to lazy to do it right originally, so I just cut a second hole in the housing to accept the turn signal socket. But the problem was that the brake light basically over powered the turn signal and canceled it out.

Heres a diagram of what I did. Basically I removed the red portions and connected the turn/brake wires to my trailer adapter. But then the lights would blink fast when I hit the brakes because there was no load on the original turn signal wires. So I added some 8 Ohm resistors. Now everything functions like it should.

Do you have a larger version of that diagram?

Thanks.

Go for it man, thats what being on these forums is all about.

Note to self. When its really cold and oil is like honey...don't start truck and immediately hit hydroboost brakes and crank the wheels.

Did this yesterday day leaving work and blew the return hose off the barb at the box. I guess the added volume of oil the cylinder moves is a bit more than a low pressure connection can hold.

Thought crossed my mind.lol. But I only left the cylinder on for the last few days to get all the air worked out of it.

I pulled the cylinder off last night. I am working on getting some Kevlar wrap for the hoses and a mounting point for the hoses.

I wouldn't have thought of the consequences of the cold either. I worked construction for years up here and I found a battery blanket wrapped around the compressor head really improved how the compressor ran when first started. Perhaps using heat tape meant for downspouts or trailer piping would do something similar. They come in different lengths.
I voted for your truck a few days ago and got you within two. Good luck,

Richard

Thanks. With the cylinder removed I dont think I will have any more issues. Not to mention it doesn't get this cold (single digits) very often where I am at.lol

Soooo. No Ranger progress tonight, but..just fired up the 4.Oh BII for first time. One step closer to getting her into the wild and leaving an empty bay to squeeze the blue turd into.

Took the BII out on its maiden voyage this weekend.

Still needs the exhaust built from the Y pipe back, and we need an older style intake. The hood wont clear the 95+ without pushing it into the fan.

Other than that, just needs some seats and door panels to call it done.

8.8 and D35 will be this spring/summer.

Just a tip on the y-pipe... try and find an original in good shape. I bought two y-pipes and had to return both. First one the Cat flange was f'd up. The second one was ok but once mounted to the engine the Cat flange was laying on the radius arm bolt. Ended up welding my original pipe back together and using that.

By the way thanks for your help with my questions on my engine swap. I just completed it this weekend and fired it up. Just have to change the alternator now...

Nice truck bud ! im running the same KC's on mine (black edition) SOB are pretty bright!

We have a good y pipe on it. Just need to build it from that flange back.

I have a few 2.9 and 4.0 Y pipes laying around Im sure I can finger something out.
