Most important piece to the puzzle arrived today!

Agree with putting the motor you want in. It is still cheaper then the new trucks and something you can enjoy. I have same truck as you but 4 wheel and V6. Looks great!!!

Well....I fell behind on this project, but it'll back on it soon. Was driving it on the night of 4th of July and the TFI bit the dust on our way home from dinner. Thought it ate another distributor gear, but that was not the case. I haven't had a distributor mounted TFI fail on a 2.3 before, normally just an issue on the V8s in my experience. Drug it on the trailer at 1am after watching fireworks from our prime roadside spot and then let it sit in the driveway in timeout for a few weeks before I diagnosed it.

Picked up a TFI heat sink from an OBS truck and removed a few fins for the Hall effect sensor wires.

I was going to extend the wires and get this mounted up ASAP....but decided to wait until I gut the harness and rearrange it for the PimpX install. Which will hopefully start this fall. I have an 8.8 to build for the car and a frame to patch up on my winter beater first.

Stumbled across a deal on a 3.55 Trac Lok Ranger 8.8 with 10" backing plates....dirt cheap, low miles...but a trashed pinion bearing literally on my way home from work.

Common issue I have had with 8.8s that sit awhile, moisture gets in and small amount of corrosion pits the outer race and eat eats itself alive if you drive it.

Had seals already, but had to steal the bearing and crush sleeve eliminator from my V8 truck parts pile. Had Rip throw it back together for me.

Truck currently has an open 3.73 7.5 so I was pretty stoked to find this unit. I'll have to upgrade the driveshaft to 1330 or 1310 as well, which honestly probably needed for any way with anything over 100hp
