I recently got a 96 ranger with the 2.3L, and I changed the spark plugs and ignition wires today.
I used Denso 8mm wires and Denso Platinum TT plugs. Thing is the old plugs and wires didn't look too bad but they must have been because my truck"s engine gained a ton of power especially in lower rpm.
I have never experienced such a substantial gain from just changing these parts, its pretty awesome, so if u put it off cuz its 8 plugs it might surprise you
