Do these specs for the 8.8 apply to 2001+ ford explorers with the independent rear end.

Kindof a jumble of numbers you posted there... lol

I'm sure specs like the bearing preloads, ring gear bolt torque, and gear backlash would be the same, but being the center is made of aluminum on the 2002+ Explorer 8.8s, things like the carrier bearing cap torque may be different, not sure.

Also, those 8.8" numbers are wrong.
Backlash spec is .008-.015",
Ring gear bolt torque is 70-85ft-lbs

I wish I knew why those erroneous numbers from the Yukon books keep popping up here, but they're wrong. :annoyed:

I tried to paste them from the tech library. I guess I will have to work on That.
