Im new to the ranger family. Ive searched through here and even contacted Metra, but i dont feel certain that the guy was right. I have a 2003 ranger edge with the pioneer amp system. Problem is the previous owner cut the radio harness and hardwired the radio in. I want to do things the right way, so if anybody could tell me the harness that i would need it would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy Ryan,

The radio/stereo harness is part of the main dash wire harness and in order to replace it with the original you would probably need to either go to a junkyard and cut one from a similar model or buy the entire dash harness...which can be rather expensive.

I would go to a junkyard, pull the dash bezel (pop out the radio first to ensure the harness is intact) and cut the OEM wiring as far back in the dash as you can...pull the connectors and all...and even keep the OEM radio (after you pay, of course).

There is a section just for the radio and it only sticks out about 6 inches from the main harness that feeds the rest of the dash in that area. Not really a much to them even if you pulled the entire dash...

I know things changed from around 1998 and later from what I have but there is probably more similar than different...
