ok so, i have the duraspark 2 system out of a 1980 f150, im having problems with two wires. its the red and lt blue wire and the white and lt blue wire. the red and lt blue go to the go to the 8th pin in the '80 ignition switch which is the start position on the switch. the white and lt blue wire goes to the run position on the '80 ignition switch. i had it wired once and the truck would start and idle perfectly. but i couldnt put the truck into gear (manual trans). everytime i would push the clutch in it would shut the truck down. and i know it was shutting of the ignition system cuz i have an aftermarket tach. im having troubles reconnecting it to wires where i can actually drive the truck. im thinkin on connecting it directly to the starter switch for the start position and then to the battery for the run position but i dont know how reliable that will be. any input or direction on where to go would be great. also i have the wiring diagrams for the 1980 and my 1990 ranger
