Please help me find my DPFE....

My son who does not live with me has a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0L. It recently started throwing code P0401. Research has showed this code is 90% of the time a faulty stock DPFE. As he is on a limited budget, I wanted to get the part and install it for him. He is not mechanically inclined and knows nothing about cars. As the vehicle is not with me right now, I want to be sure to purchase the correct part and know exactly where it is on the vehicle so that I can change it for him quickly when he comes from out of town this weekend.

Does anybody happen to have a picture of the part, preferably a picture of the part on the engine, or even a diagram? Again, as this is not my personal vehicle, I don't have a service manual or access to one.

Any help is much appreciated.

it is really easy to find it is on the driver side it will have a connector and two vacuum lines going to it. it is about 1.5 inchs in size.

If it's possible to get a picture, I would still like to know that we get the right part. I have been given wrong parts by parts stores too many times before and just want to be sure I get the right part before he drives all the way up here.....thanks so much.

I know, that's a 3.0, but the part looks the same. Get the plastic one.

rockauto.com usually has them for pretty cheap. That is where I got mine for my 3.0. It was about 15-20 bucks less than autozone.
