so i blew my 3.0 liter on my 99 ranger. were installing the new one.we have the torque converter on the flywheel. we slid it into the transmission and when we turned the crank shaft it wont turn at all. If you loosen the bottom two tranny bolts then it does turn. if you tighten them it seizes up. is there some way to line the torque converter up or should it just slide in there and work as long as your splines are lined up? any help iappreciated

pull the engine back out, put the torque converter in the transmission and THEN install the engine.

make sure the torque converter fully seats by spinning as you push it in.

since you've already tried to force it in you might want to replace the front pump on the transmission now.

you are supposed to bolt the torque converter to the flexplate after installing the engine and tightening the bolts

The torque converter needs to spin and seat in the transmission 3 times. Then its ready to install on the truck as a whole.

set down and stop what ever your doing . think about it the torque conv needs to be what i call timed with trans . it has to slide in to the tranny first .so take it loose from the flywheel and put it in the tranny first . it go's in two clicks . then mount to flywheel
