Plate light question

I recently purchased a 98 ranger xlt 3.0. Im going through it and making sure its going to pass my states inspection Bs. At some point in time the rear bumper was ripped off and the wiring for the plate lights is no longer there. I have it rigged up now and both lights are working, till i press the brakes and they go out until the pedals released. Any chance someone has a diagram for the rear lighting? Any insight is much appreciated, Thanks Dan.

Thank You!! I see exactly what i did wrong. I have to use the truck for the next few days till i can make it to a scrap yard and get all the odds and ins. I popped a few clear xmas lights in there till then lol.
