Ok so I got a great deal on a 50" Zenith plasma at sears ($549.99) and now I need ideas/advice on mounting it to wall. I am also planning on running the wires inside the wall as shown on youtube. What I am looking for from you guys is info on tilt VS. flat mounts and what height to place it on the wall (I think I would like eye level but some people like way up on the wall)
Mines eye level with a tilt mount. A flat mount would work just fine if your keeping it close to eye level. Tilts I only see useful if you have it mounted high and need to aim it down.
50" eye level covers a big range - I would put it so the top of it is eye level when youre standing up.
As for tilt/swivel - its really your preference. Tilt models give you a bit more room behind the set than the flat models
Might be too late, but I like to have mine a little higher than some people. At eye level I'm looking at the bottom 2 inches of the TV. I do this because there's nothing like watching a Football game and having someone walk right in front of the TV. It always seems to be a pivotal play that it happens too. LOL
I would just buy a good swivel wall mount. I think mounting them right on the wall is stupid, it dont get air flow and they get hot. Electronics enemy is heat!!
