I have the ford motor sport harness . I would like to place the computer in the slot in the Engine bay where the Ranger computer sat. The harnes is designed to fit inside the cab of the ranger so it is about 2 1/2 feet to long. How did others handel this problem. I am thinking of either shortening the mustang harness or puting the computer up under the driver side dash, no room on the passanger side . How have others handled this?:dunno::icon_confused:

I just placed it all uder the hood. One side does a loop around the brake booster, the other side loops around by the heater box. The wiring leaves/enters the ECU from the passenger side, instead of the more logical center of the truck. There's a coil or so of wiring behind the block, too.
Seemed much, much easier then customising the length of every circuit. It looks fairly neat, especially after its been up to temperature and all the bends form nicely.

Just set the harness i there, it will all make sense. My TAB/TAD solendoids are sitting on top of the heater box. So are a coupl relays. My harness does not have a built in fuel pump relay like yours, but there's plenty of room to fit everything. (I just used one wire [pin 22]to the stock ranger fuel pump/relay/inertia switch)

You can just see the coloured wires in the first pic, just under the brake master, where I wired the three Mustang harness plugs (now removed) to the stock Ranger main harness plug. I used the engine-side of the ranger harness, so the whole thing is not hard-wired to the truck, still comes apart. The wires/circuits from the green Mustang plug (nearest to the ECU) were just extended and wrapped, the rest were shortened/lengthened as needed.
