hi i am trying to get my pitman arm off cuz putting 4in lift on truck i already broke my puller on it then tried a high grade bold and bent that anyone have any ideas even tried my air hammer

Pitman arms can be a huge PITA for sure (I just got done dealing with one myself).

A couple methods I've used to get them off (in addition to using QUALITY USA-made tools) is putting a goodly amount of tension on the tool, then beating the side of the arm next to the spline with a hammer to sortof "shock" it into slipping off. Another is rapidly heating the arm next to the spline with a propane torch on full-blast (being careful not to torch anything nearby such as the brake line that runs along the face of the crossmember) to coax it off via expansion. Relying on just a puller alone to get it off carries a pretty high risk of the tool breaking though (almost a guaranteed if it's a cheap imported puller, so it's well worth spending a bit more coin to have a good tool here).

Good luck with it.

I guess you are removing the pitman arm from the gearbox...probably similar to a ball joint removal...and as 4x4junkie suggested...heat and hammer...and it might even help to pull the gearbox completely and put it on a bench so you can hammer downwards on the arm after applying heat...

I recently pulled one from my 96 and was contemplating swapping the arms onto the manual gearbox because the original arm on the manual has about a 1" drop...fortunately, this worked out OK with mine without removing the pitman arm...
