i don't know anything about em. wanting to know what good brand might be, how much it'd cost? Preferably a manual bender cause i know they are substantially cheaper, and would like to be able to bend up to like 2 1/2" diamter.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find anything that will bend tube over 2" (at least in a respectable price range)

That said, the two that immediately come to mind as the top DIY benders are the ProTools 105 and the JD-Squared Model 3.

I've also been looking at this guy from Speedway Motors

Its definetly not cheap but I love my tubeshark. Having the bender and notcher is great

Yeah i'm wanting to get one so i can build a couple bumpers more easily, a light bar for my truck, and a tire carrier. Figured if i buy it now i can save myself tons of money rather than buying the bumpers and what not.

That JD-Squared model 3 seems like it'd be about perfect to anything i need to do, and more reasonably priced than the others too! I was lookin at the notcher they have, seems like it'd be soemthing might have to pick up too haha, ya can't go wrong with more tools

I definitely go with the JD-squared bender, very nice bender for the price.

Yeah i sent an email to guys about he JD-squared bender... just gotta pay taxes before i order it haha. then bumpers here i come :)

i got a protools 105 that Im pretty happy with

None of the regular JD or Protools benders do anything over 2" for the most part. Im not really sure why you would want to use tube that large for bumpers or anything anyways though.

I just figure if if i can do up to 2" then it'll leave my options open to do other things too like a light bar or something. and i'm kinda of the opinion go big or go home haha

I have the JD2 Model 3 and have no complaints with it whatsoever. Very well made piece of equipment.

I would recommend getting a bender with thicker arms like the ProTools 105HD. They say not to bend larger then .135 wall tubing but I have seen guys do small bends of .25 wall in the 105HD. I got a killer deal on the HD so thats what I went with.

You need different dies for different sizes of tubing and also for how much a bend you need like 120 or 180 degree bend or for how tight you need the radius of the bend to be. Also the dies are different for bending pipe (measured ID) and tube (measured OD). Pipe and tube are two very different things.
