Ok so this is kinda directed toward dave but anyone is welcome to answer. Im tading Odie my 8.8 w/ 4.56 gears for his 9" he had sitting around. When i redo the spring purchase i want to know what degree the pinion should be at with the Giant 64" kit. I know dave has run this kit before thats why i say its more directed at him but like i said anyone is welcome to give me an idea.

I have not gotten the new drive shaft yet but it think i remember reading somewhere the pinion should be at about 6 degrees for this kit.

Odie, PM me when you can, i wanna see if you can meet me or come over saturday afternoon so i can get that rear end in before the meet sunday

You want it to be the same as the input shaft at the trans. Mine was 2-3 degree. No vibration, no binding, and no problems!! You might not want to get to involved with your leaf pack though.....did you hear about the new trailing arms that Threat guy is making? haha! :D

Yep, that's the key, match the angle of "out put Shaft" to the rear end to avoid problems.
Dave, I just know you ment to say output.
Another Dave (Mac)

So what do you measure from to compare to level, the frame?

damn you dave! you just wont let me finish the truck will you?! lol i swear, i just start gettin happy with my setup and you throw new shinny metal at me to buy. Its just never ending! lol :icon_bounceblue::icon_cheers:. Ill make sure to do all that. If you find a buyer for my Giant kit, you just might have a buyer here :D

measure off the flat straight main part off the frame that is under cab. Find that degree. Then measure as dave said. subract the output shaft number from the frame number and that is the pinion angle needed.
