Pin Problems

Hi, my question is about the caliper and pins on my 1992 2WD Ranger. I took off my front caliper yesterday following my hunch that I've got a leaking piston (turns out I do). As I didn't have the time or 17 dollars to replace the caliper just then, I thought I'd just put it back on and wait for another day. In my haste I managed to get the bottom pin in somewhat sideways. I can't get it out and can't remove the caliper to replace it.

Any advice? Any lubricant that might work particularly well? I can't really get a grip on it at all. My other question is whether or not I can (or should) remove the bracket the caliper sits on. I couldn't really tell but it doesn't look like a part that's designed to come off regularly. If I could take off that bracket the caliper would be free. Thanks for reading,
-Martin

The only way I know to remove (or install) the slider pins is with a big screwdriver and a hammer...not sure how it could be sideways or otherwise twisted because the channel is pretty narrow...

But putting pin grease on them certainly helps installing and provides for movement when the calipers need to...

You can try some WD40 or other spray lubricant and then whack the end of the pins from the back side out...

Thanks. Since posting I've managed to get it out with WD40 and a hammer. Turns out I had started putting it in up-side down. I hadn't realized that was possible...
Thanks for replying.

Cool...use some grease on them if you haven't already done so...I learned about the grease after my first set locked on me...makes life so much easier!
