This is what I want. Those 33s fill it out pretty good. What did you do for the rear lift?

Don't mean to hijack thread or anything just plenty of good posts here from people who have encountered my problem.

Any advice for a budget lift? I'm looking to lift mine a bit to get a little more articulation to clear ditches and the like, nothing too serious, but I definitely want to lift it! I've just been having a hard time finding any decent parts or kits, outside of overkill pre-runner type stuff. I want suspension not body though, any advice? Don't mind having to do the washer set up, I only care that it be stable so prob no coil spacers or the like. I already have 31s on it stock.

Killjoy,
you dont have to get the prerunner stuff, they make kits (and you can find them used) that dont make your wheels stick out.
a pair of lift coils, 8"-10" shocks, bent beams and ext radius arms for the front, will work out good, for the most part you can get this for around 300-500. other wise ebay 2" coil blocks would be the route to go.

@ daniel3507

Thanks and glad you like it, :icon_thumby:

the wheels are 15x9 with a 4"bs

As for the rear at this point is the stock 3 rib leafs with a 2" helper, a pair of belltech 6400 shackles, and belltech 6100 beveled 1" blocks with new U bolts. the shocks are 2.5 X 10 Fox shocks with res's.

Plans are set for some 64" leafs, and a Dixon brothers cantilever setup all mounted on a 8.8 .

Very nice. That is a mean looking truck. I might get the Autofab kit to create a similar look........

Thanks for the help Northern :icon_thumby: I'll def look into that. I had been eyeballing a kit from JC Whitney but wasn't sure about their quality. Like i said it won't be used for anything too hardcore, but i don't want to get stranded in a ditch either lol. I also planned on getting an e-locker for the same reason since its 2WD. How far can i lift it before i have to start changing out brake lines and other stuff? Any idea how much lift most of the recommendations you made will yield? :sorrysign:

Two inches.

You can lift it about two inches with a homemade washer spacer. It's safe and don't let anyone convince you that it's not. You want to weld the washers together, its a good idea on the 2wd trucks. If you have any questions, ask. Or take a look at my build thread, that will show how I did mine.

BTW I don't mind my wheels sticking out a bit i kinda like the looks when done right.

Please forgive me for being old and stupid. I understand the pre runner concept but what are the advantages of lifting a 2WD truck?

You get better gas mileage in a 2wd. It's also "cheaper" as in you only need to buy one ring and pinion set, you don't have to worry about your front axles snapping, eaiser to work on, there's a hole buttload of advantages. And plus some people like the lifted look but don't need 4wd.

Ahhh....that makes sense. thanks!!
