Pickup bed lengths (and width)

I have a conventional touring bike that sadly, I’ve yet to use for touring. I use the heck out of it every year for exercise. So, it isn’t gathering dust but I would like to actually use it for touring some year.

I do need to get my mountain bike to the shop. The shifters are messing up and whatever is wrong with them is beyond my ability to figure out. The cables run smooth and are not hanging up in the housing. No kinks in the housing. And the interior of the shift mechanism isn’t gummed up. It takes two, maybe three cranks on the lever for it to change gears though. Maybe the mechanism is messed up inside? 🤷‍♂️

I'm filing a motion for a ban unless you can provide video evidence of you taking that thing off a sweet jump.
Lol… BMX but on these rapunzel bikes! I’d watch that.

Cable stretched? Can you cycle through all the gears eventually?

Eventually. I tried adjusting the cables to see if it was a stretch issue. I used to build bikes a good while ago. So, while I'm not an expert mechanic, I can deal with general issues pretty well. The shifter uses a ratchet type system to work up and down the gears and it seems the shifter is what isn't engaging correctly. The bike is about 20 years old, so the shifters might be on their way out. I'll let a shop look at it. It needs a good look over anyway. It's been a number of years since I've brought it in for a tune up and replace any cable that may be going bad. While I could do it myself (to a point), I don't have all the specialized tools or a proper stand to work on a bike.

That is possible /\

I have to change the tires, chain, cassette, and bottom bracket bearing every year. I luckily get about 5k miles out of everything.

I had to change my shift cables two three years ago because of stretch and shift issues. New cables and new derailleurs fixed everything.

That's green bike is the fast bike. If I was in good shape, it would probably be able to do 50mph on the flats but I am out of shape and can only get to 40 with the wind behind me towards the end of the season.

And the last pic is my favorite ride each year, the shiner gasp. Used to be 100 miles from the start in Austin to the finish at the brewery. Now it starts and ends at the brewery and it's ok.

Neither of mine are built for speed.

The yellow one is a touring bike. That's my old bike that I had done many 100 mile rides on. The green one is the bike I always wanted so when one showed up for sale locally, I bought it immediately. I have about 12k miles on it so far

I do have a road bike, a mountain bike, and a bmx also but the road and BMX just hang in the garage. I ride the mountain bike as a commuter to and from work m-f when it's not freezing cold and drizzly, or a jeep didn't almost crush me recently.

That's my mountain bike prior to it's last rebuild

And I don't know why the seat is so weird on it. Maybe I was working on it.

I have no idea how many miles are on either bike. Both have had the tires replaced from being worn out. The Sojourn has WAY more miles on it than the mountain bike since I use it for an alternate to running all the time. As a matter of fact, the tires are about due for another change. Sadly, they no longer make those tires. I like them a lot. My knees just can't take nothing but running. I have to find time to go somewhere if I want to mountain bike.

That Raleigh is nice looking. Looks perfect for distance rides and touring. I put a hammock saddle on mine too, not a brooks but one set up the same. Made it alot more comfortable, That's for sure
